Everything is Energy – The Universe Speaks, Are You Listening?
How Energy Shapes Our Lives, Our Choices, and Our Well-being
Have you ever walked into a room and instantly felt uneasy, as if something was off? Or met someone for the first time and, without any logical reason, felt an instant discomfort? Maybe you brushed it off, telling yourself you were just imagining things. But were you? Or the opposite—have you ever stepped into a space and felt at home, even if you had never been there before? Have you held an object and thought, This belongs to me, while another, just as beautiful, felt completely lifeless in your hands? That’s energy. That’s the universe speaking to you. We like to believe that we make choices based on reason, but deep down, we are guided by something far older than logic—our connection to energy. It’s in the way a song gives us goose bumps before we even understand the lyrics. It’s in the way a painting moves us, while another, no matter how famous or expensive, leaves us cold. It’s not about taste. It’s resonance. Some people feel this more strongly than others. There are those who can’t wear second-hand clothes because they sense the energy of the previous owner lingering in the fabric. Some people touch an object and know instantly, this is for me or this isn’t. Others enter a house and feel a weight, a presence they can’t explain, while someone else might walk in and feel nothing at all. And then there are those moments when you just know something without knowing how you know. You wake up one morning with a heaviness in your chest, a strange certainty that something isn’t right. Later, you hear that someone close to you has fallen ill, or worse, passed away. How did you sense it? Where did that knowledge come from?
The Vedic scriptures have always spoken about this deep connection. The phrase “Yatha pinde tatha brahmande” means as is the microcosm, so is the macrocosm. Whatever exists in the universe also exists within us. We are not separate from the cosmos; we are made of the same energy, the same particles that form the stars, the galaxies, and everything in existence. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar explains this beautifully—what we carry within us, we experience in the outer world. Our emotions, our thoughts, and our vibrations shape what we attract. A restless, fearful mind will see obstacles everywhere. A mind at peace will find solutions effortlessly. Ever noticed how, on some days, everything seems to go smoothly? The roads are clear, the parking spot is waiting for you, everything just flows. And on other days, even before you leave the house, you already believe that the traffic will be terrible, that you won’t find parking. And sure enough, that’s exactly what happens. Coincidence? Or the universe reflecting your energy back to you?
Sometimes, energy shifts so strongly that it forces you to move. Like when you’re in a workplace that once felt comfortable, but suddenly, everything changes. The atmosphere becomes heavy, interactions feel forced, and you start dreading the thought of going there. That happened to me. I was working in a place where, despite the usual ups and downs, the environment felt good. Then, a new supervisor arrived, and everything shifted. The energy of the space became unbearable. The control, the insecurity, the need to dominate—it poisoned everything. At first, I told myself to adapt, to not let it affect me. But energy doesn’t ask for permission—it simply flows. And when something isn’t right for you, it doesn’t just stay in your head—it sinks into your body. Slowly, I started feeling exhausted. It wasn’t just stress; it was something deeper. My body was resisting the very space I was forcing myself to stay in. And then, it got worse. I started getting sick—constantly. Strange symptoms, unexplained pains. And yet, I still pushed through. Until one day, I collapsed and ended up in the hospital with stories I never thought I’d have to tell. All because I ignored the energy that my body, my mind, and my soul could no longer bear. I had two choices: stay and keep forcing what was no longer meant for me, or leave and trust that something better was waiting. I left. And so did many others. Because when something is no longer right, the universe will make sure you don’t stay there. How many times have we fought against these signs? A job, a relationship, a friendship—something that used to feel right but no longer does. We resist, hold on, convince ourselves that we must push through. But the universe is always speaking. And when we refuse to listen, it finds a way to make us move.
The reason we feel all of this—the way a place either welcomes us or repels us, the way we just know something before it happens—is because we are not separate from the universe. The same particles that make up the stars, the planets, the vastness of space—they are in us. We are made of the same energy, and so, of course, we feel the shifts. Have you ever been around someone who drains your energy without even speaking? Or met a stranger and instantly felt warmth, as if you had known them forever? This has nothing to do with logic. It’s energy. It’s the universe communicating through vibration, frequency, resonance. There’s a reason why some people avoid hospitals, temples, or crowded markets. It’s not about superstition—it’s about energy. Sensitive people feel it more. They touch an object, and if the energy doesn’t flow, they put it down. They hear a song, and in the first few notes, they know if it speaks to them or not. It has nothing to do with taste. It’s about whether the frequency aligns with theirs. Everything we experience—our emotions, our thoughts, our health—is deeply tied to this unseen flow of energy. And when we ignore it, we suffer.
Next time you feel that heaviness when entering a space, pause. Next time a person’s presence makes your stomach twist for no reason, pay attention. Next time you feel that deep, intuitive knowing—don’t dismiss it. Energy doesn’t lie. The universe is constantly guiding you. The real question is—are you listening?
